F is for France - EAT post There is so much to talk about French food, but I am talking about this unusual dish we ended up tasting while in East France in a small town - Colmar. We asked for some Alsatian specialties while in Colmar, France. Hence, we ended up eating Tarte Flambee and Choucroute. I would like to specify that Tarte Flambee is a Alsatian German speciality, quite similar to Pizza, yet very different from it. It's almost paper thin and costly for the price if you are looking for a heavy meal. Choucroute is kind of traditional Saurkraut recipe made of cabbage and meat. E for England - Travel post I have pictures of St. Paul's Cathedral and our view from Tower Bridge from London. But I want to talk about travel to UK. Us, Indians have to get a visa to UK which is different from Schengen visa. It is slightly time consuming and mighty expensive if I may say so. But do you know that even Indian tourist visa is not an easy affair. We never think about it but those brave westerners who choose to visit India for tourism have really planned their trip and taken efforts to get out of their comfort zone. I was pleasantly surprised and happy how Indian passport holders with European work permit were allowed to visit Dubai for few days. We took advantage of that in 2019. If you have read my blog about it then you will know how straightforward the visa on arrival for it is now. I will love if the Indian passport gets strong and travel / tourism becomes easy for us too but till then which country you should like to visit but dread to even start the visa process. E for England - EAT post Before reaching London, I had made up my mind of visiting Dishoom Carnaby restaurant. So once I was there, we reached Soho to find the restaurant. Boy! We were surprised. It was crowded, there was a queue. There were attendants giving you a queue number, a complimentary drink was offered and still no one seem to budge. We also waited patiently and secured ourselves a place. Dishoom has nice Desi vibe and Bollywood ish decor with very English looking staff. Something that can easily happen only in London I guess. Of course we also visited the Kingly Court just to feel the vibe while in Soho. D is for Deutschland - Travel post Nuremberg is the second largest city in the Bavarian region of Germany. Best time to visit Bavaria is during the last week of July in summer, when largest open air music festival happens - Bardentreffen. The entire city turns into one fun place. First picture is of the unique opportunity I got to wear the traditional German /Bavarian dress - Dirndl. Second video is just of street music we heard during the Bardentreffen days.
